How he did it

I'm with FI, brother, and Grandpa in sunny Venice, Italy!
We were on a trip to Europe with my brother and grandpa. We really wanted to try to get to Venice (which if anyone has been there, they know how hard it is to get to), but could not figure out where to go or where to park. It was really frustrating, and I wanted to give up, but Nick was going to get us all there. We finally stopped to ask for directions, they were able to point us in the right direction, and we were off.

Nick parked in a parking garage and was having a hard time getting the ring out of his bag because I kept wanting to go over to see what he was doing.
Kevin (my brother), was keeping me away, and telling me to go figure out where grandpa had gone while Nick was finally able to put the box in his pocket. We were off to the ferry.

It was a beautiful day it was 85 degrees and sunny. The first beautiful day we had since we had been in Europe. We had a 20 minute ferry boat ride to St. Marks Square and it was just fantastic. Beautiful sights and so much history in Venice, I was just in aw.  While I was checking out the sights, Nick was acting very strange and abnormal, he seemed to be thinking a lot. Hmm..

Finally made it to our stop, and all I wanted to do was shop and find a cafe for some authentic Italian food, but Nick and grandpa were on a mission to find a gondola. I might have been a little cranky, and a gondola was the last thing I wanted to do, but we finally found one. This gondola was "the best" for 120 Euro for the four of us, (to which I found absolutely insane), but we went anyway.

Nick was still acting a little strange, and started asking me about how I felt about our friends getting engaged (which we found out about the night before). We talked about it for awhile and then Nick asked me if we should show them up with our engagement story. I said sure, not really wanting to talk about it much because I was still a little cranky, then he asked if we should do it here. I didn't really know what to think until he pulled out the ring! Nick got on his knee in the gondola and asked me to be his wife. It was the most romantic thing ever! I had to sit there and process what was happening, I took a little time to answer him because I was so choked up, all the while Nick was still on his knee...in a boat. So I got it together and said "yes!" I do believe we have the best engagement story!
